Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about the test and the platform. This page is updated with every official publication.
Does the official test exist yet?
Not yet. Organic Law 1/2026 created the requirement (in force since 19 May 2026), but the regulation defining format, fee and administering body has a legal deadline of mid-August 2026. When it's published, we update all content the same day.
Are your questions the official ones?
No — and be wary of anyone claiming otherwise: no official questions have been published. Our 600+ questions are original, built on the law's 5 themes and fact-checked one by one. Buyers get the update to the official syllabus at no cost.
I'm Brazilian. Do I really have to take the test?
Yes, for the knowledge component (culture, history, symbols, rights, the State). The CPLP waiver covers the language only. Full explanation, with the law's article, in our guide on Brazilians and the test.
I filed my application before 19 May 2026. What now?
Good news: your case follows the old rules — no test, and the 5-year residence period (article 7(2)). What counts is the submission date.
How much does the platform cost?
The 20-question mock is free, no signup. Full access is a single one-time payment of €39 — no subscription and no expiry. Buy once and it's yours, with no cut-off date. Full refund within 14 days.
What if I don't like it?
Full refund up to 14 days after purchase, no questions asked. Write to ola@testenacionalidade.pt from your account email.
What language is the content in?
Questions exist in Portuguese and English — switch anytime. The official exam will be in Portuguese, so we recommend training in Portuguese in the final stretch.
Who is exempt from the test?
Per the law: minors, people who completed schooling in Portugal, and special health situations. Final exemption rules depend on the regulation — we'll update this answer when it's out.
